## [b]Epilogue: "The Future We Choose"[b]

---

### [b]Scene 1: The Final Decision[b]

The Chrono Stone hovered in Carol's hand, glowing with soft, golden light. The Rift Nexus was finally silent—a vast expanse of shimmering starlight.

Lilac folded her arms, her gaze steady. [i]"We could destroy it... but do we have the right to?"[i]

Neera shook her head, her expression grim. [i]"If we don’t, someone else could use it... someone worse than Celios."[i]

Milla hugged her arms. [i]"It caused so much pain... but maybe it was supposed to be something good."[i]

Carol stared at the Chrono Stone, her tired eyes reflecting the golden glow. Her body still ached, but her mind was clear. She took a deep breath.

[i]"It’s not our job to rewrite time,"[i] she whispered, [i]"but it is our job to make sure no one else does either."[i]

Her friends exchanged solemn nods as they gathered around the stone. Carol’s bracelet pulsed as they placed their hands on her shoulder. The golden light grew brighter, surrounding the stone like a cocoon.

[i]"Goodbye,"[i] Carol murmured as the stone floated into the center of the vortex and vanished with a brilliant flash.

The platform beneath them shimmered as the Nexus disintegrated into warm, golden light.

### [b]Scene 2: Back in Avalice[b]

The familiar breeze of [b]Lilac’s Treehouse[b] greeted them as they reappeared on solid ground. The hills stretched peacefully beneath the morning sun, and the scent of flowers filled the air.

Carol stumbled slightly but caught herself, letting out a soft laugh. [i]"Okay... I need to lie down forever."[i]

Lilac crossed her arms and exhaled. [i]"We’re finally home."[i]

Neera nodded. [i]"And time is safe."[i]

Milla hugged Carol with a wag of her tail. [i]"We really did it!"[i]

Carol gave her a tired thumbs-up. [i]"Yeah... but the bathroom’s mine first."[i]

### [b]Scene 3: The Well-Deserved Rest[b]

Later that afternoon, Lilac stood outside the bathroom door, tapping her foot impatiently. Her ears twitched as she heard the faint sound of running water.

[i]"Carol!"[i] Lilac pounded on the door. [i]"You’ve been in there for hours! I just want one bath—just one!"[i]

Inside, Carol was fast asleep in the tub, curled up with her arms draped lazily over the sides. The tub was filled with bubbles that nearly covered the water’s surface. She muttered softly in her sleep, [i]"Time... saved... naps are eternal..."[i]

Her bracelet still glimmered faintly on her wrist, emitting a soft hum.

Milla peeked into the hallway, holding a fresh towel. [i]"Let her rest, Lilac... after everything she’s been through, she earned it."[i]

Lilac sighed, crossing her arms. [i]"I know, I know... but she’s hogging all the hot water!"[i]

Milla giggled. [i]"She fought time itself. I think she gets dibs."[i]

Lilac leaned against the wall, smiling despite herself. [i]"Yeah... okay."[i]

### [b]Scene 4: The Flicker of Memory[b]

Inside the bathroom, the bracelet on Carol’s wrist glimmered and pulsed softly. As Carol shifted in her sleep, the light from the bracelet intensified for a moment. A flickering holographic figure appeared briefly—[b]a younger Celios[b], with a calm and thoughtful expression.

The figure stared at Carol’s sleeping form as though contemplating something.

[i]"Perhaps... you’re stronger than I imagined,"[i] the faint hologram whispered before vanishing.

The bracelet hummed, settling back into its dormant state. Yet the faint hum of temporal energy remained—a subtle reminder that something—or someone—still lingered within its circuits.

### [b]Scene 5: A New Dawn[b]

As the day turned to dusk, Carol finally stepped out of the bathroom, wrapped in a towel and looking well-rested, though her eyes still carried the tired glint of someone who had fought fate itself.

Lilac raised an eyebrow. [i]"Enjoy your [i]five-hour bath[i]?"[i]

Carol stretched and flashed a mischievous grin. [i]"Oh yeah... time well spent."[i]

Milla handed her a mug of hot tea. [i]"We’re proud of you, Carol."[i]

Carol took the mug and smiled warmly. [i]"I couldn’t have done it without you guys."[i]

The four of them sat outside as the stars began to fill the sky. The air was calm, filled with the quiet hum of the present—the future they had fought for.

[i]"Here’s to tomorrow,"[i] Lilac said softly.

Carol leaned back, her tail flicking contentedly. [i]"And to naps."[i]

The group laughed as the sky above glimmered with constellations, the distant hum of time no longer a threat, but a reminder of everything they had overcome.
